Launched in 2018, the Africa Journal of Public Sector Development and Governance (AJPSDG) was envisioned as a unique, continental platform dedicated to advancing scholarly discourse on public sector development across Africa.

Spearheaded by the African Management Development Institutes Network (AMDIN) and supported by funding from the European Union and South Africa’s National School of Government (NSG), the journal represents a collaborative achievement following a series of strategic conceptual meetings held in Kenya, Rwanda, and South Africa.

Despite the presence of competing journals, AMDIN and other stakeholders are committed to establishing a peer-reviewed, reputable, and sustainable journal. Published both in print and electronically with open access, the AJPSDG ensures wide accessibility and inclusivity by presenting abstracts in English, French, and Portuguese. Guided by a confirmed editor and editorial board, the journal prioritizes balanced regional representation, allowing only one article per author per edition and encouraging contributions from across the continent.
